Over a year ago I saw an automotive type show on TV and they showed an Anoka Power Hammer. They also mentioned there were plans for building the hammer for a fee. Recently I contacted the shop that sold the plans and was told the hammer design was sold and Drake is manufacturing the hammer now. So, if anyone has an old set of Anoka Power Hammer plans they will sell me I'm interested. Otherwise, if anyone knows of other plans for a similar hammer I'm interested in that too. davep1000@aol.com

David
Dennis Wolfgang Bargwarth of Hot Metal Customs was selling plans the last time I looked at his site . His hammer is very similar to the Anoka . He has a Album here showing it in action .

Gordon, David,

Dennis was part of Anoka Power hammer. I just heard through the grapevine that they, Dennis and Barry I believe, sold the rights or whatever to Bailiegh. The new Bailiegh doesn't really resemble the old Anoka except for the stand. Maybe the Bailiegh was something they had designed, but I never heard it that way. This doesn't mean that Dennis is completely done in that field, and it can't hurt to get it straight from him. I see he has updated his album sometime after the Bailiegh deal.

Bob, Dennis sold the Anoka to Dake. The Baliegh hammer is a different machine entirely.

How close is the Shopdog in design to Anoka ? I've heard about them ,but don't think I've seen one.

I posted a complete set of plans for the Shopdog12 on Metalmeet.com. The plans are free and the member ( either site) can build one for their own use. It is a very good machine adjustable stroke 0 to 1/4 " with a lifting tool head. Uses 5/8 Sq Tooling.

Kerry, Barry,

I recall the post of the Anoka sale and the news of the Bailiegh hammer happening around the same time and thought Bailiegh was the purchaser. My mistake! Has Dake ever marketed their version of the Anoka hammer? Don't recall seeing any info on it, but as been proven time and time again, my memory isn't rock solid.

Bob, I've seen the Dake power hammer on Two Guys Garage and they did a pitch on it so I assume that Dake paid them some product placement money in addition to providing them a machine. The producer contacted us but, to be honest, we couldn't afford their rates. I haven't seen the machine advertised anywhere else. I do know they took it to SEMA because Dennis told me they went out to help work the booth with them.

Richard K,

I went to MetalMeet to look at the plans for Shopdog but couldn't register because they require the name of the person who referred me. I entered your name but I was rejected. (I'm over 50 so rejection doesn't really bother me any more, but it's inconvenient :-) Can you help?
If for some reason that doesn't work, I will still be in the market for an old/used set of the Anoka plans.

Thanks,
David Peiffer

Richard,

Since the plans have come up as a topic of conversation on the MSA forums, I wonder if you'd be willing to put a copy of the plans in an album here? I'm not trying to keep people from going over to MetalMeet, just make it easier to find for everyone.

Excellent! Thanks! We can also make up a dedicated page for them if you prefer, similar to what we have for the CP hammer stuff. Just let me know.
