It has been mentioned on this list that blacksmith@yahoogroups is affiliated with a group called Metal Shapers Association.

We are visble at a website metalshaper.org.

There has been much work going on behind the scenes by a team of moderators. Setting up a photo album section, tips and tricks, an introductions section, forums and most importantly a usable archive.

I have just been allowed to set the system up so that there is some communication from the forums to this list.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IS THIS:

Any post sent to the forums goes to the yahoo list.

Any response sent with the reply button on the bottom of the post goes to the MSA archive and via MSA back to yahoo.
So any response sent via the reply button below GOES TO BOTH the MSA Forums and Yahoo.

Any response done in the way we are all used to goes JUST TO YAHOO.

If those of us who are posting technical information use the NEW option we will grow an archive that will be a great resource, without detracting from this list.

If we use the OLD system for attaboys, wows, and Thats KEWL! posts those will not be arcived at all.

The NEW response does require FREE REGISTRATION to get access to posting on the MSA site.

At any rate, try it. You might like it. It is really much simpler to use than describe.

If anyone is looking for project ideas, and is willing to be humbled a bit,

try Roger Degner's ABANA 2004 picture album.

Fellow Metalshapers:

Leanna has notified the Moderators of the memorial service for Terry. It is scheduled for January 8, 2005 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
For those that can attend the address is:
Alvarado Senior Citizens and Community Center
201 E. College Ave.
Alvarado, Texas
For a map to the location please go here: http://www.alvaradopubliclibrary.org/directions.htm

For those that cannot attend but wish to send a note of condolences, Leanna has requested that they be sent to Gordon Bartlett so he can print them. All letters will be displayed at the memorial. stingshp@taylortel.net

This past Saturday night in chat the idea of a metal flower bouquet was brought up. The idea is to get a bunch of metallic foliage together and present it to the family from the group. What we propose to do, is each of us make a metal flower of your choice; roses, lilies, or whatever you like, you pick it. Blacksmiths might choose to do some leaves, grapes, or iron posies. The material is your choice as well, copper, steel, brass, aluminum, whatever you are comfortable working with.
When you have completed the flower, UPS or mail to Gordon Bartlett Gordon has volunteered to collect them all and present them to the family.
The metal bouquet would make a fitting tribute to a visionary like Terry. If we all pitch in, this can be a great tribute and a lasting
remembrance for the family from Terry's family of fellow metalshapers.

GORDON SAYS:

Just send them to me -UPS please ,FedX and Airborne get lost finding me. It could be days before i see them .
