I've always been interested in blacksmith work. When I was about 7 years old, we lived across the street from the local blacksmith. He did mostly farm emplements and designed one of the first automated cotton pickers, but never got his design off the ground.

I would go over to his shop after school and play in his junk piles and grind metal on his hugh grinder. Can you imagine a 7 year old being allowed in a shop today? I've been in love with making things with metal ever since.

My curent interest in blacksmithing is metal sculpture and to make tooling for sheet metal shaping equipment and maybe a few knives.
