Question Are there any tips or tricks to IDing a metal type?
I have this flange that I need to weld a pipe to. I've determined that it is ferrous with the ol' magnet trick. But only a strong magnet will hold to it. A weak refridgerator magnet won't stick. It's fairly heavy and machined, so it's pretty shiney. I'm thinking it's stainless steel. Is there anyway to be sure?
Thanks,
Wade AKA the n00b
