I am rebuilding a 78 280Z and need to repair some rust damage. I am thinking of getting the Harbor Freight Metal Shrinker/Stretcher Set because of $ and don't plan on having to use the set again after the car is completed.

Has anyone had any experience with the Harbor Freight tools and can comment on how good or bad they might be? As I said above, once the car is done I don't plan on using the tools again. If the quality is so bad and the tool will break before the job is done, then I will just buy the Lancaster set. Since money for the project is in short supply, I want to spend it wisely.

Any thoughts or comments would be helpful.

Hi Wayne,

You might consider buying just the shrinker from Lancaster or whoever...a nice american made one is worth something when you go to sell it. A stretcher is used a lot less, and you can stretch the metal easily without one, using a hammer over a steel surface.
